Christmas Decorations for All Tastes
Decorating for Christmas is something that millions of Americans look forward to each year. Many people go to the extreme and put up hundreds, if not thousands, of lights that sparkle, twinkle and shine. Every year the displays seem to get larger, the lights get brighter, and the sounds grow louder and louder. Many people get overwhelmed and simply give up, instead of celebrating Christmas in a way the is right for their family. Try to remember that the holiday season is not a competition, but a celebration of the birth of Christ and his love for the world.
As you begin to decorate your house this year I hope that you will find the following ideas both helpful and enjoyable to implement.
The most important thing for you to remember when decorating your house for Christmas is that your decorations should mean something to you. If you are a fan of the color pink then you should consider hanging pink Christmas lights. Do not spend too much time worrying about what other people will think. Decorate from your heart and you will enjoy your decorations much more this year. Not everyone celebrate Christmas in the same manner, so while a huge inflatable snowman may be perfect for you, you neighbor may prefer more traditional displays (like fresh Christmas wreaths)….but who cares? It is your house and you can do what you want!
Personally, I am a huge fan of simple, yet elegant, displays. White LED sting lights, coupled with a few small LED snowflake lights are typically strung across out roof. Additionally, our Christmas tree is placed strategically so that every person that drives by can see its beauty. We are also fans of hanging crystal Christmas ornaments that depict important events in our lives.
My advice to you is to pick what you like most about Christmas and design your decorations around that one thing. As years go by, add things as inspiration strikes, until one year you will realize that your decorations are perfect. The cool thing is that if you try something one year, and hate it, next year you can easily change by adding to or getting rid of certain elements.
There are so many wonderful ideas, tips, and tricks when it comes to decorating your home for Christmas that it is incredibly difficult to point to one specific idea and say ‘this is it’. Finding a theme that speaks to your heart, and celebrating the birth of Jesus, is what Christmas is all about after all!
